Background Notes: This is just a small cut from the revised version of "The Pair O' Docs," from the scene where Clara, Jules, and Verne are in the train, and (unbeknownst to them) Marty is approaching to attempt rescue. I don't remember why I decided to clip it out.

"Mom?"

At the sound of her son's voice, Clara Brown opened her eyes. "What is it, Verne?" she asked softly.

"I think I hear footsteps outside. Is he coming back?"

There was a slight tremble to the boy's question. Clara sighed softly, feeling a strange mixture of fury and terror twist her gut. Fury at the non-Emmett thing that had taken them from their home at gunpoint, tightly bound their wrists and ankles, and dragged them to a number of different times. There was also the fury stirred up by the way the Emmett-Thing had treated Jules and Verne and herself -- generously dolling out smacks and Terror at his inevitable return
